Why Matthews Equipment Repair was founded
Matthews Equipment Repair started from seeing a real need—too many people had equipment sitting broken because they couldn’t get reliable help, didn’t want to deal with dealership delays, or were tired of the runaround. I’ve always been the guy fixing things, and turning that into a business just made sense.
With years of hands-on experience working on everything from small engines to heavy equipment, I knew I could offer something different—straightforward service, real problem-solving, and a willingness to take on jobs others won’t.
What I enjoy most is getting people back up and running. Whether it’s a homeowner, a contractor, or a farmer, I know that when their equipment is down, it slows everything down. Being able to show up, figure out the problem, and get it fixed—or at least give them clear answers—makes a real difference.

What makes me effective at equipment repair is years of hands-on experience working on a wide range of machines—from small engines and lawn equipment to farm equipment, skid loaders, work trucks, and hydraulics. I didn’t just learn one type of equipment—I learned how different systems work across the board, which helps me adapt to just about anything.
A big part of that comes from learning by doing. Every job is a little different, and over time you start to recognize patterns, troubleshoot faster, and understand how to track down problems without overcomplicating things.
My background in emergency services as a volunteer firefighter also plays a role. It builds a mindset of staying calm, thinking through problems quickly, and handling situations where things need to be figured out fast and done right.
